If you have ever been to a dance club, or
listen to pop radio, odds are you've heard Pepper MaShay sing. For starters, her
single "Dive in the Pool" reached the top of the Billboard Dance Club Chart on
September 23, 2000. "Dive" was also the No. 2 Billboard "Club Play" Song of the
Year 2000. The song has been featured extensively on the Showtime hit TV series
Queer As Folk and is also featured on the soundtrack. "Dive" has also won the
Best Underground 12" award at the Winter Music Conference in Miami in 2000. It
was also honoured as one of the "Top Dance Songs for the year 2000" by ASCAP.
MaShay followed the immense success of "Dive in the Pool" with another chart
topping smash hit in 2001 called "I Got My Pride". The song was produced and
remixed by none other than Barry Harris (Thunderpuss) and featured additional
remixes by Ralphie Rosario, Paulo and Michael T. Diamond. The song has also been
featured on the TV series "Sex and the City".
Her big screen credits include singing on songs featured in films like "The
Bodyguard", "What's Love Got To Do With It", "Pump Up The Volume" and "National
Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and in addition she's appeared in numerous
national television commercials.
Pepper has also performed at the 1993 and 1997 Democratic Presidential Inaugural
Galas. When Ms. MaShay is not using her voice for song, she's lending it out,
and is actively involved with raising money in the fight against AIDS.
